What is Vitamin A?
Vitamin A, also known as retinol, is a fat-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in a variety of foods.
It can be found in sources such as cheese, eggs, oily fish, milk, yoghurt and liver. The body can also make use of beta-carotene, found in foods such as carrots, sweet potatoes and leafy greens, by converting it into vitamin A.
Vitamin A is available as a dietary supplement in a range of formats, including tablets, capsules, oils, drops, sprays and gummies. It is also commonly included in topical products such as creams, ointments and serums.
